Course Description
Nathan Rabalais specializes in the folklore, literature, and popular culture of francophone North America, particularly in Louisiana and Acadian communities of maritime Canada. He was born and raised in the Acadiana region and is a heritage speaker of Louisiana French.
He teaches seminars on Louisiana Francophone literature, translation, Louisiana French language and culture, and francophone oral tradition at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Nathan also enjoys creative writing and media projects.
This course, offered live on Zoom, will develop student’s knowledge of Louisiana French grammar and vocabulary through a variety of stories, songs, poems, and recordings.
