Course descriptions:

  • During the beginner course, students will learn to use common expressions and everyday phrases in French that are essential for daily interactions. They will practice introducing themselves and others, asking and answering basic questions, and engaging in simple conversations with growing confidence. The course provides a solid foundation in spoken and written French through a clear, communicative approach.

  • In the beginner 2 course, students will enrich their vocabulary of everyday essential terms and build on conversational basics. Broaden your knowledge of sentence structure and grammar essentials as you develop your ability to talk about yourself, move through everyday life, and even learn exchanges that could help you while you travel. The course provides a solid foundation in spoken and written French through a clear, communicative approach.

The course is $160 for AF members for 8 courses of 1 hour or $195 for nonmembers for 8 courses of 1 hour.

A specialist in North American French lore and culture, Rachel has worked as a French instructor at UL, at Université Sainte-Anne, and in Lafayette Parish Immersion. She holds a PhD in Francophone Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
